Antonio Vidal had three goals while Kurt Johnson and Ryan Talorico scored a pair to lead the Titans to a 7 – 2 win over the visiting Bay State Bobcats to complete the weekend sweep between the teams.
It was the Red Buckets fourth straight win and seventh out of their last ten.
Bay State’s Jason Melanson opened the scoring midway through the first period when he scored a powerplay goal to give the visitors a 1 – 0 lead.
The Titans then scored four unanswered goals with less than ten minutes remaining in the opening period.
Talorico scored his first of the contest to ied the game with 7:30 left in the period. A minute and seven seconds later Johnson gave the Titans a 2 – 1 lead and the Red Buckets never looked back.
Talorico scored his second of the game with 3:08 remaining in the first to double the Titans lead. It was the Sewell, NJ native’s team high fourteenth goal of the season.
Vidal lit the lamp for the first time in the game, a powerplay goal, with 1:22 left in the first to make it 4 – 1
Bay State cut the Titans lead in half when Jordan Griffin scored his first goal of the season to make it a 4 – 2 game.
Johnson hit the back of the net for the second time of the game on the man advantage to make it 5 – 2.
Vidal’s second goal made it 6 – 2 at the eight-minute mark of the second period, and then he completed the hat trick with 7:37 into the final period. Vidal’s third goal of the game also was the Titans third powerplay goal of the contest.
Daniel Antal picked up his fourth win of the season stopping 34 of 36 shots while Bay State’s goaltenders combined to turn aside 41 of 48 in defeat. Click here for the complete box score.
The Titans next game will be next Sunday, November 20 at 2:30PM when they travel to Long Beach to take on the Sharks.
