The Titans fell to the regular season champion Northeast Generals 7 – 1 yesterday in game one of this two-game series at the New England Sports Village.
Braeden Kennedy opened the scoring for the Generals at 8:41 of the opening period to give Northeast a 1 – 0 lead. Kurt Johnson scored a powerplay goal at 11:17 of the first period to tie the game at one. It was Johnson’s fourteenth goal of the season.
Northeast’s McCarthy Reed scored a shorthanded goal with 2:20 remaining in the first to give the Generals a 2 – 1 lead.
Dalton Wille gave the Generals a 3 – 1 lead just 3:48 into the middle stanza, and Matthew Nuzzolilo scored with 3:14 left in the second to make it 4 – 1.
Phil Feinberg, Nuzzolilo and Caiden Hess scored third period goals to make it a 7 – 1 game.
Jake Agoglia stopped 50 of 57 shots in defeat while Luke Fundator turned aside 31 of 32. Click here for the complete box score.
Despite the loss, the Titans still retain the fourth and final playoff spot in the East Division with Long Beach losing to Danbury.
