The visiting Northeast Generals defeated the New Jersey Titans last night 7 – 0 to complete a two-game weekend sweep between the teams. Northeast has swept the Titans in all four games played this season between them.
Caiden Hess scored his first of two goals in the game to open the scoring with 8:43 remaining in the first period. Nolan Murphy doubled the Gens leads with 3:52 left in the period.
Matthew Nuzzolilo made it 3 – 0 just twenty-nine seconds into the middle stanza. Braeden Kennedy’s seventh goal of the season game Northeast a 4 – 0 with 9:02 left in the second period. Twenty-one seconds later Payton Felix scored his ninth goal of the season to make it 5 – 0.
Hess scored his second goal of the night on the powerplay at 9:09 into the final period, and then Felix scored his second goal of the game, a shorthanded goal, with 4:30 remaining in the game to close out the scoring.
Despite the second consecutive drubbing, Titans netminder Colin Freitas and Donovan Alfama played well again and combined to stop 77 of 84 shots while Northeast’s D’Mar McCoy turned aside all 15 shots he faced for his second shutout of the season. Click here for the complete box score.
The Titans will now take a brief holiday break and return to action on Wednesday, December 1 when they host the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks at 12:30PM.
