Four, first period goals led the Willmar Warhawks to a 9 – 0 victory over the Titans in game two of the three game NA3HL League Showcase in Blaine, MN.
Willmar’s Teddy Kluesner opened the scoring at 4:56 into the first period to give the Warhawks the early lead. Two minutes later Tyler Misialek scored his tenth goal of the season to make it 2 – 0. Jordan Fjosne scored his fifth goal of the season with 8:46 remaining in the period to make it 3 – 0, and then Collin Kerchoff scored a shorthanded goal with 5:03 left in the opening period to make it 4 – 0.
Jeremiah Konkel scored at 7:12 into the second period to give the Warhawks a 5 – 0 lead. Ben Luedtke scored his first goal of the games with seventeen second remaining in the middle stanza to make it 6 – 0 Willmar.
Marcus Mack, Luedtke and Patrick Wyers hit the back of the net in the third period to close out the scoring and make it a 9 – 0 game.
Titans netminder Donovan Alfama was saddled with all nine goals allowed stopping 51 of 60 shots he faced while Will Penney turned aside all 14 for his first shutout of the season. Click here for the box score.
It was the third consecutive game that the Titans have been held scoreless. Their third and final game of the annual NA3HL League showcase will be held today at 12:45PM ET against the Great Falls Americans.
