The visiting Long Beach Sharks defeated the Titans this afternoon 5 – 2. It was the Red Buckets second loss in as many days.
The Titans opened the scoring at 8:50 into the first period on Alex Blaszak’s fifth goal of the season with assists from Sam Senft and Teito Ishigaki.
The Sharks tied the score at one with just seven seconds left in the opening period on a powerplay goal from Dylan Harbour, his sixth of the season.
Logan Plante then scored two straight second period goals to give the Sharks a 3 – 1 lead. Plante scored the Sharks second powerplay goal at 8:15 into the middle stanza, and then Plante made it 3 – 1 with 5:17 left in the period.
Jake Spangler scored an unassisted goal (his fifth goal of the season) at 1:49 into the third period to cut the Titans deficit in half but Plante finished his natural hat trick with 9:07 left in the game. It was a powerplay goal and the Sharks third of the game. Christopher Barnard closed out the scoring to make it 5 – 2 with 5:13 left in the game.
Donovan Alfama turned aside 40 of 45 shots in the loss while Ryo Murakami stopped 26 of 28 in the victory. Click here for the box score.
The Titans next game will be Saturday night on the road against the Norwich Sea Captains at 8:30 PM.
