Teito Ishigaki scored two goals, Alex Blaszak and Isaiah McKinney each had two assists while Donovan Alfama stopped all 39 shots he faced to lead the visiting Titans to a 3 – 0 win over the Long Beach Sharks.
After a scoreless first period, Sam Senft scored the eventual game winner at 1:24 into the second period. Senft stripped the puck away from a Long Beach player at the top of the Titans slot and carrier the puck into the offensive zone. As Senft gained the line on a two-on-one with Michael Horowitz, he sent a pass from the far side faceoff circle to Horowitz in the slot. Horowitz sent a return backdoor pass to Senft and he buried the biscuit past Sharks goaltender Ryo Murakami and into the open net for his eighth goal of the season.
At 7:50 into the third period Long Beach’s Mikita Miadzvedzeu was called for tripping to give the Titans the man advantage. Eighteen seconds later the Titans doubled their lead. Ishigaki picked up the loose puck at the far side half wall in the Sharks zone. He sent it back to Blaszak to the point and Blaszak passed it over to McKinney at the near side point. McKinney took a shot that was blocked out front but Ishigaki picked up the loose puck on the door step and tapped it in past Murakami for Ishigaki’s first goal of the game.
With 4:45 remaining in the game, Ishigaki scored an empty net goal to close out the scoring.
It was Alfama’s (and the Titans) first shutout of the season. Murakami turned aside 20 of 23 shots in defeat. Click here for the box score.
