Daniel Antal stopped all 30 shots he faced and Fionn Thomann scored two goals to lead the visiting Titans to a 3 – 0 win over the Norwich Sea Captains to end the 2022’23 regular season for the Red Buckets. The win gave the Titans three points in the two games against the Sea Captains splitting the two-game series between the teams.
Now the waiting begins. With the Titans and Long Beach winning today, the Titans are a point ahead of the Sharks for the fourth and final spot in the East Division’s playoff picture. Should Long Beach win, the Titans will be eliminated from playoff contention. However, should the Sharks lose or lose in any extra period, the Titans will advance to the playoffs due to tie breaker rules.
After a scoreless first period, Aidan Gallagher scored his fourth goal of the season to give the Titans a 1 – 0 lead mid-way through the middle stanza.
Thomann doubled the Titans lead just 1:49 into the third period. His second goal of the game at 9:06 into the final period closed out the scoring and make it 3 – 0.
It was the Titans first shutout of the season, and it was their first since December 5, 2021 when Donovan Alfma recorded a 39 save shutout to blank the Sharks 3 – 0 in Long Beach.
