The visiting Norwich Sea Captains defeated the Titans 6 – 0 this afternoon in the first of a two-game series this weekend.
Norwich’s Jack Kinahan scored his first of two goals in the game just 3:39 to give the Sea Captains a 1 – 0 lead.
The Sea Captains doubled their lead with 8:42 remaining in the opening period Angelo Donzella’s first goal of the season.
Norwich went up 3 -0 with 7:18 remaining in the middle stanza when Kinahan scored his second goal of the game and third of the season.
The Sea Captains broke up the game in the third when they scored two powerplay goals (Brian Essing and Sava Makarenko) and then Nicolas Piluso scored midway through the final period to close out the scoring.
Titans netminders Antonio Vaccaro and William Kelly combined to stop 26 of 32 shots while Andrew Yocum turned aside 36 shots he faced for his first shutout of the season. Click here for the complete box score.
The teams will play the second game of this two-game series tomorrow at 2:35PM at the Middletown Sports Complex.
