The visiting Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks toppled the Titans 2 – 1 yesterday in a matinee game at the Middletown Sports Complex.
The Titans opened the scoring at 8:27 into the first period when Payton Fobes beat Danbury goaltender Ryan Maguire for Fobes second goal of the season with assists from Dante DeBlueris and George Hinds.
Danbury at 7:39 remaining in the second period when Antonio Felidi beat Titans netminder Antonio Vaccaro for his first goal of the season to knot the score at one.
Three and a half minutes later, the Tricks’ Roman Winicki scored an unassisted goal to close out the scoring and make it a 2 – 1 game. It was Winicki’s second point of the games.
Vaccaro stopped 24 of 26 shots in the defeat. In two games played this season, Vaccaro has a .942 save percentage. Maguire turned aside 36 of 37 in the victory. Click here for the complete box score.
This was the first for five straight home games for the Red Buckets. The next four will be played against the Norwich Sea Captains. The teams will play two games this upcoming weekend and the remaining two games the weekend of October 7th.
