It was an exciting and busy day yesterday for Lenny Caglianone. After being officially announced as the Titans new head coach, he immediately had to go to work on his first NA3HL draft.
The Titans went into the four-round draft with four picks: 18th, 52nd, 86th and 120th. The Titans traded the first two picks to the Oregon Tradesmen for cash considerations and then made selections with their last two.
With the 86th overall pick in the draft, the Titans selected forward Teito Ishigaki of the CIHA Voyageurs U15 AAA team. The 2005 birth year had 20 total points (8 goals and 12 assists) in 30 games for the Voyageurs.
“Having Teito in a Titans uniform will greatly help our depth up front” said Caglianone. “He is a player who can be used in all situations and will immensely improve our offensive IQ and speed. I look forward to working with him and developing his game” state Caglianone.
With the 120th over all pick in the draft, the Titans selected forward Sam Sheppard from the EHL Protec Jr. Ducks. Caglianone was Sheppard’s coach last year at the Ducks. The Montreal, QC native had five points (3 goals and 2 assists) in eight games with the Ducks.
“Sam will bring a wealth of veteran leadership to the group in the upcoming season. Along with his leadership, he will also provide us with lengthy skill set to provide consistent production on the front end” added Caglianone.
